I learnt of this new thing called “specialty coffee”. I tried it and the coffee was amazing. Then I learnt that there is whole lot more to coffee than meets the eye. Then I learnt that coffee, tea and chocolate in some cases are grown by the same people! What excites me about Bloss is that we can help guide people in their appreciation of these great products, whilst having a real and generational impact with the farmers and communities we source from”

LUKE GILBERT

Luke has been working in speciality coffee since 2011. He has been a Q-grader since 2013. Presently a trainer for the Speciality Coffee Association in many Asian, middle eastern and European markets.
“My journey with coffee began on a coffee farm in South Africa, a little off the well trodden coffee trail! From there I embraced the specialty coffee shop explosion in China and soon became well aware of the rich diversity of coffee and how crafting it to suit a customer’s liking takes patience, passion and skill.

7 years of sales related retail experience. SCA Intermediate certificate in Roasting, Sensory and Barista and basic brewing and green beans. “I’m Ashford born and bred! Working with Bloss gets me enthused. I want to be part of creating a real change in the coffee industry, as well as showcasing the world’s finest Indochinese and Thai coffee’s. Together with my wife Emma – we run the Bloss roastery in Ashford.

SCA Intermediate certificate in barista, roasting and sensory and basic brewing and green beans. “I am a Cheshire woman and have lived in Ashford for the last 3 years. I’ve worked in coffee for nearly 2 years. I know how to make the best coffee – but what really motivates me working with Bloss, is experiencing the impact a good cup of coffee can have on people. Together with my husband Joel we run the Bloss roastery in Ashford.”
